Guest speaker Sorah Stein, one of the only dual certified board certified behavior analysts and AACSET certified sexual educators in the world, joins us to present on puberty in pre-teens and teens. This workshop is ideal for parents with children with developmental disabilities who are interested how puberty will affect their child’s behavior, but we recommend this webinar for all professionals that work with pre-teens and teenagers with special needs who are interested in puberty and behavior.
During this workshop, Ms. Stein will describe sexuality, sex, puberty and puberty onset, the typical course of sexual maturation, and behavior and hormonal changes related to puberty.
After attending this event:
Participants will be able to describe what puberty is and when it ‘starts’
Participants will be able to define sex and puberty
Participants will be able to describe behavior and hormonal changes related to puberty
Participants will be able to describe environmental factors that affect behavior during puberty.

Sorah Stein, MA, BCBA, CSE is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (www.BACB.com) and an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator (www.AASECT.org). Sorah has 20 years of professional experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, and is one of the very few dual certified BCBA and CSE in the world, focusing her efforts on providing sexuality education to individuals with developmental disabilities via behavior analytic methods. Sorah is also mom to 3 children, the oldest of whom has Autism.
Sorah has extensive experience working with individuals and teams to conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments working with both adults and children with a variety of developmental disabilities. Sorah has worked in the medicaid waiver program, residential and day services, and within a state funded consultation program. She continues to work with children with autism, within the medicaid waiver program, and teaches at Indiana University South Bend. Sorah has experience with mentoring others in completing and writing reports for thorough functional behavior assessments, resulting in effective behavior support plans.
