First, the presenter will review how culture and language might influence responding in general, and suggest strategies for maximizing achievement and desirable behavior. Second, the presenter will discuss how language may influence the outcome of functional behavior assessments (both indirect and direct approaches to assessment), and how to minimize any challenges to a successful assessment. Third, the presenter will discuss social validity of interventions and present strategies to maximize the likelihood that interventions will be adopted in home settings.
